I have been in this life for many, many years,
I have seen so many suns, so many moons,
I flew in the nine heavens,
I sailed the seven seas,
I have been to many places,
In the east, and the west,
I have been to India, to Mexico, to Ukraine
I have been to Lebanon, to Greece, to Spain,
I talked to the stars,
I listened to the birds,
I ran with the rivers,
I swam with the clouds,
I meditated in temples,
I sang in churches,
I chanted in monasteries,
I prayed in mosques,
And through love that lies
In my eyes, and my heart,
I saw wisdom, I see faith,
I see beauty, I see truth. In me,
I hear The songs of Neruda,
The poems of Khayyam,
The melodies of Rumi,
The rhymes of Gibran.
‘Who are you?’ people ask,
‘Where are you going?
Where did you come from?’
And I say, where I came from?
I forgot. Where I am going?
I know not. And I am me, I am you,
And I am everyone That has been
On this earth, Everyone like you,
Everyone like me.
