I dream Of the river
In which I swam
In delight
When I was
A little child.
I dream
Of the skies,
Blue and wide,
Like the eyes
Of my beloved.
I dream Of the trees,
Tall and proud,
Like the gypsy
Pretty maidens
Dancing tenderly
In the middle
Of the night.
I dream
Of the men
Of my land
Working hard
In their fields
At dawn,
And of
The women
At their side.
I dream
Of the time
When I sit
By the river
One more time,
And write
My poems
Of love,
Of peace,
And of
A better life.
