of poetry
and music
where the earth
embraces
the sky
in affection
and the sun
shines softly
at midnight.

We long

of love and beauty
of freedom and truth
for Cordoba
for Alhambra
and Granada

And yet
buildings
and cities
be they fair or
ugly or pretty
in the North
or Southern Spain
they WILL be sung of
again

pray let us
not forget
tiny sweet pining
Juliet
and her passionate
young Love
who seemed a gift
from Above.

Vibrant Romeo
who with Juliet
was besotted
but the Fates
soon plotted
their ill begotten
Fate..
and soon was closed
Loves freshly
opened gate
they too
must not be forgotten.

Thus we sing
our song
for Cordoba
for Alhambra
for Granada
for the people
who love
and die
for the sake
of Freedom
and Truth.
